Papa’s Porch is a family vacation rental designed for the way families actually want to vacation — together, relaxed, and away from it all.
We built this place for our own families first. The moment we experienced what it offered, we knew other families deserved the same. From the porch to the beach, every detail is here to help you slow down and soak it in.

Papa’s Porch isn’t just a place to sleep between beach days. It’s the kind of Ocean Isle Beach vacation rental where the whole crew — grandparents, cousins, newborns, and everyone in between — can spread out, relax, and actually feel at home. With 8 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and sleeping space for up to 20 guests in beds, you’ll have room to breathe without ever feeling like you’re running a military operation.
Six of the eight bedrooms feature king beds, so the adults in your group won’t be playing rock-paper-scissors for the good room. Every bedroom has its own flat screen HD TV — all of them Smart TVs — so whether someone needs a midday nap or a kids’ movie night, everyone’s covered wherever they are in the house..
A Floor Plan That Puts the Views Where They Belong
One of the things that makes this family beach house genuinely different is the reverse floor plan. The main living room, fully stocked kitchen, and primary master bedroom are all on the top floor — which means you wake up and cook dinner with sweeping views of Ocean Isle Beach right outside your windows. It’s the kind of layout that makes a morning cup of coffee feel like a small luxury.
The main living room anchors the top floor with a 70-inch TV, perfect for big game nights or movie marathons after a long beach day. Head down to the second floor and you’ll find a second living space with a 65-inch Smart TV — a great spot for the kids to have their own hangout zone while the grown-ups claim the top floor.
No Stairs Required — Seriously
Here’s something you won’t find at most beach rentals: a full elevator that runs from the ground level all the way to the top floor. The house runs on 1-Gig fiber optic internet delivered through a whole-home Orbi mesh WiFi system, so you get fast, reliable connectivity in every room — no dead zones, no buffering, no competing for bandwidth. Parents working remotely and kids doing distance learning can all be online at the same time without missing a beat.
Your Own Private Pool
Nothing says family beach house rental quite like stepping outside to your own private pool. At Papa’s Porch, the pool is heated in spring and fall at no additional charge, so you can swim comfortably even when the ocean hasn’t quite caught up to the season. Around the pool, you’ll find resort-grade furniture — reclining lounge chairs perfect for soaking up the sun, plus two tables and chairs for poolside lunches and card games. A full-sized refrigerator on the ground level keeps everyone’s drinks cold without a single trip upstairs. Pool toys and floats are provided for the kids, and when it’s time to rinse off, a dual outdoor shower — with two shower heads, hot and cold water, and splinter-free Poly-Wood decking — makes the transition back inside easy.
A Kitchen Better Stocked Than Your Own
The kitchen at Papa’s Porch consistently earns one particular compliment from guests: it’s better stocked than what they have at home. The large kitchen is outfitted with stainless steel appliances throughout — a smooth-top 5-burner stove, double oven, microwave, toaster oven, French-door refrigerator and freezer with ice maker and filtered water, and a full dishwasher. Two coffee makers, a Keurig, and a Ninja blender mean no one is waiting in line for their morning cup. You’ll find service for 20, plus a full complement of pots, pans, casserole dishes, mixing bowls, muffin pans, and more. The basics are stocked on arrival too — dish soap, dishwasher detergent, coffee filters, and a starter supply of K-cups — so your first morning doesn’t require a grocery run just to make breakfast.
Laundry, Handled
A week at the beach means a lot of wet towels and sandy swimsuits, and Papa’s Porch makes laundry simple. A stackable washer and dryer are on-site, along with an iron and ironing board. Out in the carport, a clothesline lets you hang wet towels and bathing suits to dry in the ocean air. Laundry detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets are all provided — because the last thing you should be doing on vacation is shopping for supplies.

Things to Do at Ocean Isle Beach and Beyond
The beach is the heart of any Ocean Isle Beach vacation, and it’s steps from your door. But when you’re ready to explore, the island and surrounding area offer far more than most visitors expect. Golfers will be delighted — more than 100 golf courses are within a 20-mile radius, with many just 15 minutes away. On the island itself, you’ll find a miniature golf course, tennis courts, bicycle rentals, and charter fishing trips. The Museum of Coastal Carolina is also right on the island, a great rainy-day option for curious kids and adults alike.
Every summer Friday evening, the Ocean Isle Beach Property Owners Association hosts a free concert series at Ocean Isle Town Park — a beloved local tradition that makes for a perfect low-key night out. Just off the island, go-cart racing and more miniature golf are within easy reach. Wine lovers will want to carve out an afternoon for Silver Coast Winery, just 15 minutes away, which offers tours and tastings. And if you’re up for a bigger day trip, Myrtle Beach is only 45 minutes south — home to water parks, outlet malls, NASCAR Speedpark, and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the Class A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.
Fun Right Here at the House
Not every great vacation moment happens at the beach. Papa’s Porch sits at the end of a lightly traveled street, making it safe and comfortable for kids to ride bikes without worrying about traffic. Inside, you’ll find toys and board games ready to go for evenings when everyone just wants to stay in. A Sony PlayStation 4 with mostly E-rated games gives the kids — and honestly, the adults — something to look forward to after a long day in the sun.
